I think saying that … I think saying that yoga is a waste of time is stupid. I workout hard 5 times a week. I lift 5 times a week then do yoga on the 6th day and rest on the 7th. I do cardio for 1 hour each day even on the 7th day.
The yoga day really helps with my overall balance and flexibility and I feel it in muscles I didn’t know I had.
It’s also great being more flexible in the bedroom.
It’s a good thing being able to go at it at all angles
Mother you’re … Mother you’re kidding yourself with the idea that YOU have flexability and others do not. Same goes for cardio. Many of these people you assume have neither, may equal…or in Steve’s case, beat your level of cardio.Yoga is VERY overrated. If you’re expending your energy there you’re ignoring some of the best training you could be doing. Yoga is not that great. The fact that you sweat means nothing. You’ve allowed the Yoga goofballs to dilute you with that nonsense..OR, you’ve diluted yourself.
well yoga dosent … well yoga dosent build muscle but it hurt sooo good i bet u cant do yoga, honestly i have more flexebility more cardiovascular strength i sweat a lot,i can do more stuff then this fatty not because i do a bunch of pull ups and weights….cuz i do yoga baby!!!! so hate it love it….
I hate how people … I hate how people say “Yoga relieves stress, its great for the mind & soul, etc.” ANY exercise will have these same effects folks! It doesn’t have to be Yoga to do that!
Yeah I found this … Yeah I found this clown’s postings all over your site now. I clicked on his youtube page. On top of what he’s doing here, he’s sending racists crap to black guys who post, calling them this and that and everything else. He’s a loser……he’s out of his mind.
I have no clue who … I have no clue who this is. He now has a hard-on for me and has spammed about 20 videos of mine with the same message. Do people have nothing better to do with their lives?
Hey Dingle-nuts, … Hey Dingle-nuts, I’ve known quite a few guys who’ve been on roids over the years. Same old look, same old symptoms and effects, same old behavior. I can spot the effects of steroid use from a mile away. So listen up: ..HE’S NOT ON THEM!! So shut your mouth.
Great video Steve! … Great video Steve! Yoga is not intense enough to cause muscular changes…Hit the weight room!!
Your knowledge continues to impress me. By watching your videos, I’ve learned so much. I’ve had my a** handed to me SEVERAL times on subjects I thought I knew about. I dont know how Steve knows this stuff!
You don’t want to … You don’t want to do anything for 8 hours a day. Short brief intense workouts are better. If you’re training do develop a skill,..like boxing, then you have to extend the workouts….but bring the intensity down. I boxed in the Amateurs and Pro’s for 9 years. I wish I would have watched my diet better, and trained less but harder generally. If I were to do extended or 2 a day workouts, like I did, I wish I would have brought the intensity down some. Too much overtraining went on.
I don’t know if … I don’t know if you’re talking to me sexiTeddy. I’m saying Yoga is intense if you haven’t done anything before. It doesn’t stress the muscle as completely as people think. When I started training for strength and endurance through High, low and medium reps, plus HIT cardio, it out-did anything Yoga could produce…by far. When I tried Yoga again for one workout, it was almost too easy. Squats, and high rep squats and things of this nature will train you legs MUCH better then Yoga ever will.
I did Yoga back in … I did Yoga back in 1995. The first workout I did was very hard I admit. But I hadn’t done any resistance training in 3 years. I find that you adapt to bodyweight exercises very quickly. They sort of become easy fast. In 1996 I started my HIT training/periodization program. Compound lifts, high rep, medium rep, low rep squats, cleans benches ect. In 2002 I tried that same Veyenger Yoga class or a name like that. 75 minutes was PIECE OF CAKE! Could have done another 75 min. Yoga is for Grandma’s.
Obviously you don’t … Obviously you don’t understand that stretching is creating tension. You even mention it at about 1:08 that your body needs to stretch. Almost all of bodybuilding is about creating both maximal stretch and contraction. Therefore you one sided opion may need to be revised. Weight lifting is great. But again the closed minded mentality is what keeps you mediocre. Scott Sonnon is a great example of balance. You should check it out.
Depends on the type … Depends on the type of yoga, some vinyasa type styles where you move from one pose to another can offer a good low intensity workout with a surprising amount of “resistance”. Other styles like Kundulini are more spiritual and are useless if what you are going for strength, weight loss or toning.
Do some vinyasa yoga to go with bjj and find that it helps with regards to flexibility and balance, and it seems to make my body more relaxed in between doing the more serious stuff.
Amen. My roommate … Amen. My roommate is obsessed with weight loss and all she does is yoga and pilates. It’s been two years, and she’s still fat as ever.

Maybe she’s not been doing enough hours, or been taking too many calories.
I don’t do yoga for …
I don’t do yoga for a stronger body, I do it for suppleness.
You want a real work out… do something like boxing/kickboxing/muay thai for 8 hours a day.
